Our Mission

Shine Tallahassee, Inc., a 501(c)3, promotes inclusion, empowerment, and joy in the adult special needs community across Tallahassee and the Big Bend area through structured year-round programs and opportunities. 

Our Programs

  • Rise & Shine Adult Day Program

    Shine Tallahassee’s Rise & Shine Adult Day Program operates Monday through Friday from

    9 AM - 3 PM.

    We intentionally create opportunities allowing outward expression to shine forth from each student’s inner beauty by way of art, music, movement, gardening, cooking, drama and more!

  • Friday Night Shine

    Shine Tallahassee provides an environment to champion individuality and build self-esteem. On the third Friday night each month, a social event is held to do just that.

    Activities include music, karaoke, dance, games, crafts, a message of faith, and snacks.

    ALWAYS FREE, Friday Night Shine serves those with any disability, ages 14 and up.

    Join us in the sanctuary at Mission Road Church, 4070 Mission Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303.

  • Advocacy

    Shine Tallahassee understands the importance of advocacy for those with developmental disabilities and for their parents, guardians, and caregivers. Our goal is to work with other organizations throughout Tallahassee to share information that can better the lives of the special needs community.

Tim Tebow Night to Shine Prom

Night to Shine is a renowned prom for people with special needs ages 14 and over. Guests celebrate with a red carpet lined with cheering fans, crowns and tiaras, corsages and boutonnieres, dancing, dinner, photo booths, karaoke and the VIP treatment. The vision is to provide an unforgettable night full of faith, hope and love for our amazing friends with special needs.

This event was created by the Tim Tebow Foundation and brought once a year to Tallahassee by churches that have stepped up to host. Shine Tallahassee made a commitment to provide year-round programs and opportunities for these same people.

supported Night to Shine 2025 financially and by volunteering as buddies and with the Parent Prom respite room.
